I am writing to inform you that the Committee on Petitions has examined your petition and has declared it admissible, since the matter you raise falls within the European Union’s fields of activity.

Given the subject matter, I have forwarded your petition to the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) and to the Special committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS) for information.

Please note that the Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA) have been adopted and entered into force in November 2022, with the application of obligations as of the first trimester of 2024. They are aiming to respond to challenges associated with online platforms, with a view to create a safer and more transparent online environment by addressing
a wide range of issues, including the protection of users’ fundamental rights and the impact of algorithms on users’ experiences:
