Landman opened up the season with the statement “do you think our ancestors ate breakfast?”. Incredible work making that argument with the word “breakfast”, which has been in use in the English language since the 1400s.

Taylor Swift’s engagement being pushed immediately to the top of everyone’s feed demonstrates Instagram’s capacity reallocation capabilities more than anything.

Not to wade too deep into it but Zohran Mamdani attended Bowdoin College, which is famously an SAT score optional school, so it *does’t even matter*.

Publishing an article highlighting what is ultimately a perfectly fine score and using it for political manipulation is such a loser move.

For some reason I am getting AnimeCon/Anime Expo (idk & idc) reels and have gotten, in succession, a reel using the Matt Berry “Almost forgot that this is the whole point” trend and a reel with people trying to sell mini deodorants because it reeks inside the convention center.

The most vital thing you can do right now is spread this message offline to normies. There is no "unrest", there's a protest. It has 400 people. LA does worse when the Lakers come in 3rd in a season.

I want to see if there’s more Twitter drama but I don’t want to contribute to the DAU metric so I’m out here collecting screenshots like they’re the special dum dum wrappers.

Bringing back bank runs will surely make everything more efficient
BREAKING — All FDIC employees just received an email confirming DOGE presence at the agency.

"The DOGE team has neither requested nor been granted access to sensitive bank information." We'll see how long that remains true.

Text of email shared with me:

I was a poor kid in Maine, living with my family in old houses with oil furnaces and drafty windows. Section 8 funds and LIHEAP kept a roof over my family’s head and helped us know that most nights we would be warm enough.
LIHEAP is as non partisan as it comes and keeps the elderly from being cold in the winter.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) is one of its more prominent supporters.

Make America Lead Poisoned Again
Today EPA chief Lee Zeldin announced that the agency is rolling back 31 regulations.

He's taking aim at mercury, soot, and toxic pollution restrictions, and federal protection of wetlands.

The EPA will also rewrite rules limiting pollution from fossil-fuel plants and cars, and more.

Can’t stop thinking about the interaction in Landman where a nurse says “they’re like Romeo and Juliet” and Billy Bob Thornton quips “right, but what happens at the end” and the nurse responds “I’ve actually never seen the play”.

?!?!?!?!?

Can’t stop thinking about the gunman wearing a Peak Design backpack, which I assumed was strictly reserved for tech bros and bag nerds who would much rather overexplain the oragami storage than be involved in any sort of violence.

The timing of Bluesky’s growth and its proximity to Spotify Wrapped is probably going to be a blessing and a curse for this site.

On one side, there will be something familiar but shiny to fixate on, reducing down the Twitter comparison discourse.

On the other side, everyone will be *feral*.
