Creative people: streaming is not your future. Disposable, ephemeral, intangible digital media is not your future. Books, records, CDs, Blu-rays, theatrical screenings, live performance...these will be the way your art will exist in the world beyond a temporary mad scramble for views and listens.
i am once again begging all bands to put their music on bandcamp. i understand we are a dying breed but some of us still want to purchase music instead of just streaming it. please let me give you money! looking at you, deafheaven

Creative people: streaming is not your future. Disposable, ephemeral, intangible digital media is not your future. Books, records, CDs, Blu-rays, theatrical screenings, live performance...these will be the way your art will exist in the world beyond a temporary mad scramble for views and listens.

Wednesday June 6th 1977
To Savile Row to film my bit for Eric’s NBC thing. A real frisson to be filming a scene mocking Apple right outside Apple’s former HQ. George H arrived bang on time, looking wiry and trim. Once he’d been transformed into his reporter character it was wonderful to see people passing him by with not a clue who he was. When we came to our brief scene I did my best Derek Taylor, and George did a good job as the earnest reporter. During a break in filming he asked how JC and I cope with people constantly demanding the Dead Parrot sketch, quoting it back at us etc. I told him I’m fine with it. I suppose for a restlessly creative, searching mind like George it’d the stuff of nightmares. Being pinned down to just one joke, having some idiot constantly harping on about one throwaway line, pulling apart its ramifications with ENDLESS different versions and interpretations. He’d hate it.
