Even children, who cannot vote and have little money, have the power to do most of these things. So no more pleas of helplessness. No more crying that it wasn’t your fault, you didn’t vote for him. It doesn’t matter. You’re involved. Act now with whatever you have, time or money or passion.

—build systems outside of capitalism. Support local farmers. Grow your own food and trade with neighbors. Build community spaces and have events to strengthen bonds. Make meet ups for community or neighborhood support groups preemptively. Host education campaigns. Host letter-writing campaigns.

—when there’s a protest, go. Shout. It’ll show others that they’re not alone. It’s good for the soul.
—There’s a strike on Friday. Participate in solidarity. Take a sick day and buy nothing.
—Take out billboards. Put up signs. Write ICE on stop signs so they say STOP ICE. Replace if removed.

—use your finances. Find and fund mutual aid groups and food banks. Don’t give money to ANYTHING owned by a billionaire, from Amazon to mainstream newspapers. Don’t support any company that supports Republicans. Boycott. Buy local.

—make your voice loud. 5calls.org will give you a script and your reps’ numbers. Call relentlessly, multiple times a day. And if you see them out? Harangue them. They work for you. You are their boss.
5 Calls
Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.

Ideas:
—talk to your family to make sure everyone knows what’s happening. People live in media black holes in this country. You’d be shocked to know how little many people know.
—talk to neighbors, your bartender, the bagger at the grocery store, the gym manager, the postman, etc. because ditto.

Hollywood drugged us into the a mass delusion that some hero is going to save us. There is no hero. It’s a million small real actions by hundreds of millions of people that will pull us out eventually. The people always win. Find something real and tangible to do, and do it now. And now. And now.

I’m a citizen of the US and though I have never in my life voted for a Republican, though I have worked in every way I could to support justice and democracy, I’m complicit because this is my country. They act in my name even without my consent. It’s up me and people like me to stop it.

It’s ok to take a little time for yourself to break down. There’s real deep grief and justified rage here. But pessimism leads to helplessness, and nobody needs your statements of doom. We already know. I’m fighting with everything I have now so that my kids have to fight less.

We tried old white men for 250 years and it didn’t fucking work.

But the president of the United States is a criminally insane madman who is openly extorting the entire world and threatening war with NATO. The test is whether you’ll actually react APPROPRIATELY and PROPORTIONATELY, and our institutions have not and in fact refuse to do so.

I can’t believe even one person among us voted for the dumbest, most corrupt person on the planet, let alone that millions did & I’m so furious at the progressives who didn’t vote for Harris because she wasn’t some platonic ideal of a candidate. Unbearably stupid.

There are people who don't know, who didn't know. Moments like these are when they learn, and a window opens for people who want to turn their hunger for justice into action, for our numbers to increase. Stay mad and don't get jaded, in my opinion, get the newly passionate on board. 2/2
