We are a group of people in Leicestershire who want better local transport options. Primarily safe walking wheeling and cycling routes to schools, shops and transport hubs. We want safer quieter local streets and see active travel as the key enabler.
Who is responsible for installing a new cycle hub to stop bikes being stolen? Six companies and not one of those it seems.

Little Narborough Leics station. Network Rail land, The Arch Co lease on abandoned station master building/garden EMR booking office/station, for a Cross Country train service, Blaby District Council railway run car park, enforced by Harborough District Council. 6 ORGANISATIONS INVOLVED. Beat that.

Great to see a Leicestershire MP understand how important bikes are for people. It’s their means of transport. Why should it be treated any differently from car theft?

Have to have hope for politics. My interest is local community cohesion and how travel is key to that. I have to have hope we will start to prioritise people, their safety, health, wellbeing above vehicle movement in our towns and villages. We need a campaign for hope and optimism! Wishing you well.

The thing we see here is that cycling is deemed to be leisure and tourism. Not transport. Our district council focuses on active travel as part of leisure, health and tourism. That means trying to improve health on a special outing versus creating the conditions for improving health every day.

Good Active Travel Forum at Leics County Council yesterday. We’re moving forward hopefully. Film night I think tonight.
