It is! Twice as big and moreover those intricate patterns 😝 There are a lot of plain fragments too though, so it's not that bad 😅

Haha, I think for Japanese it may be the matter of kana. If you have 50-50 kanji and kana in a sentence it may look easier. But for hanzi I'd also say it depends on whether you learn traditional or simplified 😄 And pitch accent ofc isn't to be forgotten, I'd say it's even more difficult than tones 😅

I didn't achieve much as I didn't do enough input to keep my Bunpro retention at satisfying level. So my only goals for next year is to stick to my current routine I started recently and maybe finish N3 material on Bunpro

Haha, thanks! Actually my stats may be better than my skills because of how this SRS works. I have it set so that up to 3rd stage it's only quizzes and guided handwriting but on the 4th it's only free handwriting so many kanji return from that stage to previous ones 😂

What kind of bug was it? I've tried typing some Japanese and it's been looking fine so far 👀

These ones too but the responsiveness is a big pro for me as Notion tends to lag on mobile. Although the responsiveness is actually a matter of this locality and lightweight md format. I also like that you can customize it with plugins or even write your own if you miss a feature

Looks fun, I'd try it out if only I had iOS lol

Atm I use Kanji Study app for kanji and my strategy is to add a new kanji to app's SRS as it appears in my newly acquired vocab. So far I have about 1200 added kanji so I rarely come across a new one and have more focus to practice the old ones 😅

Lol, it's such a common myth, right? 😂 I think it comes from hanzi and tones, they're so mysterious so people consider them impossible to learn. I've never got beyond beginner Chinese but hanzi and tones were actually fun and definitely not more difficult than Japanese grammar or vocab nuances 😂

ありがとう!

People who aren't much into languages underestimate or even don't realize the role of input (especially passive) in acquiring the language. And in the current state of the world for most people English is the most input language after their native so no wonder it's easiest to acquire (not to learn)

I don't know why it looks like it looks but English certainly would be one of the toughest languages to learn if it weren't the lingua franca of modern days

That's why I hate people mocking French for its "complex" written form. French does have excessive letters but it's damn regular in that, whereas in English if you know enough patterns, you can try to guess but you never know for sure

Still that's nice of them 😄

Are those actual sentences from Duo? 👀

I also need to bring myself back to regular writing practice since it really does wonders to retention of active vocab. I recently looked back on my Clozemaster and Anki too what resulted in ditching Anki and switching Clozemaster to hidden translation quiz so it's more of a light reading practice
