In the 1870s, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lewis A. Sayre treated scoliosis by suspending patients by their arms to use gravity to stretch their spines. While the patient was suspended and their spine elongated, Sayre would wrap their torso in a plaster of Paris jacket.

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

The GOP now practicing Cliff's Notes Fascism

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.

From my sandpiper panning series; neglected to this post one yet. Taken early in the project, it reflects my original vision for what the resulting images would look like. It was fun to branch out from there.

A sandpiper (likely a Sanderling) dashes across wet sand near the surf, its legs blurred from motion. The photograph was made by panning the camera to follow the bird, resulting in an ICM (intentional camera movement) style that softens the background into sweeping streaks of reflected light and shadow. The image is in black and white, emphasizing the bird’s form and its fleeting movement along the shoreline.

A parade of aspiring Paramount talent in early 1934.

Left to right they are Grace Bradley, Clara Lou (later Ann) Sheridan, Elizabeth Young, Gail Patrick, Toby Wing, Gwenllian Gill, Barbara Fritchie and Ida Lupino.

“The Lupino Legend” in Cosmopolitan magazine — first of a two-part article on Ida Lupino published in January and February 1943.

“She can break your heart or make you laugh. She's five feet two of dynamite and she has Hollywood on its ear.”
2 page magazine layout. Left has large photo of Lupino in long-skirted dress kicking leg high in the air in a dance pose. Right page has article text and three small photos of Lupino with pets, husband and family.

The article begins with title in large text and its lede in medium size font:
