ZZ Claybourne has been our nonfiction editor for the past couple of years, and is doing a fantastic job. His editorial eye has elevated Apex’s nonfiction and has helped us discover many new voices. I've been asked how long our submission period will be.

Basically, we'll stay open as long as it takes to fill 2026. My hope is we fund 4 issues, then unlock the 5th and 6th issues w/ stretch goals. That way I can buy more stories, but I can't accept stories that we don't have the funds to pay for.
