The link said they suspected the nightcaps which are most commonly mistaken for small puffballs. It's why you have to cut into the puff to make sure it's white throughout. We have two kinds of puffballs, so I triple checked ours!

I tolerated The Doors in my teens, but I haven't been able to listen in decades. I loathed the movie with Val Kilmer. It made me dislike all of them (including Val).

Oh no! It seems that people thought they were eating puffballs. The online foragers I follow are very clear about how to distinguish them, but apps and Apple's photo id isn't always correct. I've used my photo app to id them, but did additional research to be sure (with the mini puffs).

Further, the number of people who think they will arrest them! Bless their hearts! They're so desperate to find hope, they'll believe anything. Which may be part of the goal.
