"I am aware of all internet traditions."
“We are all living in the same world. We all deserve a life of peace and happiness. No one will convince me otherwise. Where you have inequality and injustice there will be suffering.”
THIS is the purest definition of what their complaints about free speech were, that the undeserving were getting their opportunites.

Certainly don't pay for it, but because it has influence on politicians and pundits it needs to be mocked relentlessly.

The SC is using the shadow docket to delay making as many rulings as they can, hoping they can turn and use the same tools to stymie any Dem admin.

Sullying the name USS Defiant.

Or you use the statistical methods to point to potential issues or solutions and then turn it over to a human who can investigate the thesis further. The whole idea that the ML algo is "solving" the problem is the big complaint I have with how it's oversold when pushed on.

and honestly it's not as revolutionary as the advocates, especially biologists themselves, sell it to people outside the discipline.

Appreciate it though 😃

I appreciate the link, but as this and the preprint I was linked all day, it's primarily aspirational, not actual studies, and even worse the preprint reads more re as an advertisement for C2S than an actual investigations implementation beyond what ML has been used for in biology

Defector seems to be doing well enough, and the people who work there seem very happy.

Elites in the Democratic party treated it like it was a mandate. Klein reflected that back to us in all of his work as well.

His Kirk response should be seen, at least partially, as the same mindset.

Do you have a link to a scientific paper where a Large Language Model and not Machine Learning is being used to advance a scientific process? Genetics would be good, but I'll settle for something relevant.

I don't want to overanalyze what he does again and I actually have him blocked because his takes are inherently toxic and only make him more money.

I'd feel differently if he actually changed when he got shit wrong, but he's never suffered consequences for his actions, going back to Iraq.

Totally makes sense if you're playing a team game, where slotting in another, ostensibly better player, might actually win you more games, but this isn't that.

Congressional districts are not places where you just swap in or out people and nothing else changes. The coach can't coach the electorate

The problem with everything about Yggles is his business model and personal brand are indistinguishable from trolling, so you never know if he's stating something he really believes or if he's being "provocative." On top of that, he's been rewarded for ignoring facts, both socially and finanicially

Maybe he got a bonus for making the fight last 5+ rounds.
December 21, 2025 at 4:51 AM
But Casten's thread isn't just "I do just fine running on energy and climate," it's a full on repudiation of Yggle's insistence that we should chase polling instead of attempting to change opinion.

Of course he has to fight back. It's his very raison d'etre.

At least that would be understandably transactional if reprehensible on his part.

Having read him since the first time he blogged, I think he's just become the contrarian he always was.
