"I am aware of all internet traditions."
“We are all living in the same world. We all deserve a life of peace and happiness. No one will convince me otherwise. Where you have inequality and injustice there will be suffering.”

It's political malpractice to keep saying "we all just need to come together" and "elect us because we're the adults and everything will be fine" when we are *so far* past the point of normal that people are going to be pissed once Dems get control and things get *worse*. Which they absolutely will.
The American media IS "silly," at best. All the Canadians did was use the evidence provide to them to make it unquestionable.
The Atlantic suggesting, without evidence, that Canada's Global TV broadcasting the '60 Minutes' segment on CECOT that CBS distributed to it may have been an act of "treachery."

I'd go a bit further. The system needs no conspiracy to function. It just needs everyone to understand the direction things are going in. Bari Weiss was put there not to protect a legacy, but to align its politics differently.

Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

For those of us warning about democracy's potential disintegration, the decision by CBS to pull an exhaustively researched 60 Minutes piece, critical of Trump, is another red alert moment.

When truth disappears as the media gets coopted by the regime, there's little left.

Immigration salience has less to do with aggregate Immigration numbers than
- visibility of boats & asylum > visas
- general vibes about integration
- elite cues from media & political discourse in shaping public perceptions

This is more true when immigration is falling then when it is rising

This is the problem with "AI" as a category. LLMs do NOT identify cancer cells. Properly trained and constructed Machine Learning algorithms can speed the identification of known features of cancer cells, but even that is limited by existing knowledge.
is people are making assertions about the tech that are false, while misleading about negative externalities. It’s not useful to say “AI is a profound mistake” when people are using tech like LLMs in an informed & consensual way to do things like identify cancer cells. Let’s sharpen our critique.

Reminder that there *are* real Christians out there, that they aren't all authoritarians trying to beat people down.
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

21. And before team Yglesias responds by saying "yeah, but it's bad politics to run on climate and energy"... I'd point out that I've won 4 elections in a very purple district running on climate and energy. Pro-tip: leadership is possible! You don't have to be stupid to win!

(I 100% guarantee he's a dice roll-obsessed, min/maxing rules lawyer that drags games out forever)
