This article specifically brings it up but their LLM literally cannot resolve a variety of fairly serious issues. This isn't even about people disliking LLMs and leaving: this is about people who have no idea what that is not being able to use this software they pay for.

That's the real issue: as these companies all made these exact same poorly thought out decisions to boost their bonuses short term, they just assumed people would keep using it and the various platforms would somehow improve. Instead they degraded to a degree that they are unusable.

Salesforce is not alone. The problem was always, because the marketing dollars put behind pretending LLMs would solve every issue nearly every single company made similar moves and mimicked each other. And now, we're here, in a situation where the product is quite literally unusable.

There are a number of reasons but the short version is that they lost vast amounts of institutional knowledge that cannot be replaced. That has made the entire user experience significantly worse to a degree that c-suite execs often incorrectly believe is not a big deal. Where else will they go?

A really integral part of the collapse is that Salesforce is not an outlier in that they rushed to layoff employees and fully commit to AI all to juice quarterly reporting but that short term gain will end up eliminating a lot of these companies within the next few years.
