The School Safety Zone: VISION ZERO at #WorldBicycleDay Elementary School in Witaszyce is now a reality: 20 km/h, speed humps, lighting, & visible signage. This was about changing minds. After 2 years the first VISION ZERO school safety zone in Poland is official. Safer streets are nation-building.

Honored to join the World Bank’s #WorldBicycleDay celebration in DC for the 2nd year. We formed a human bicycle—yes, with moving wheels! A joyful reminder of cycling’s magic. 🚴‍♀️ Bicycles are simple, sustainable, and for all.

Joined WABA & Coach Alex for a “bike bus” at Dunbar HS during DC's morning rush—music, vibes, community, and a chicken sandwich to top it off. Every last Wed, 40–60 students ride to school together. Their shirts say it all: “More kids on bikes, less kids on the street.” You can't argue with that.

To celebrate this, the Polish postal service will be releasing commemorative stamps that will be in nationwide circulation. Poland are going all in on cycling, with numerous nationwide efforts to get more people on bikes.

Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking to 5th-grade students at Bancroft Elementary in D.C. as part of the Embassy Adoption Program. It was inspiring to see these young minds, who’ve been riding bikes since second grade, thanks to the DC Public Schools. A big thanks to the teacher, Stephanie Dugan!

The Polish Parliament, led by Franciszek Sterczewski, MP, is making strides in cycling for all! Today, I testified with cycling advocates as the Council for National Training of Cycling Educators shared key findings.With support from the Ministry of Education, Sports, & Health, 🚲 becomes a priority!

Day 1 of the #TTDC25 was impactful, esp. hearing NYC’s DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez highlight #VisionZero as his top priority with its 3 Es: engineering, education, and enforcement. Kelly Carson of Bloomberg Philanthropies reminded us that “education without enforcement is just entertainment.”

Absolete traffic regulations hinder Poland's 🚲 culture. A major overhaul is needed—not just in the laws but also in 🚲 education. To better prepare cyclists, exams should be conducted in real traffic, not controlled environments. This shift could boost safety and infrastructure.

The 🚲 manufacturing industry must join the 🌍 conversation on 🚲 education, especially following UNESCO's "BicycleForAll" decision. Reducing 🚲 illiteracy is a collective action. Teaching kids to ride is essential. Balanced supply & demand of bikes and riders is key to sustainability, health, & equity.
