- Attach metadata to IDs, not paths
- Enable local apps to connect with their remote counterparts, including servers
- Give users the choice: sync everything upfront or just what's needed

That's how I started to use seedboxes and remote "home cinema" software. Still need to choose hosting carefully, but there are some specifically made for this. Extra pros are that local device isn't loaded by torrenting, and movies download ultrafast on the box.

I'm curious, what're other popular sync/backup tools out there beyond obvious iCloud and Google Drive?

Personally, I'm using Syncthing for years but it's UX is way too far from the mass market. That's what we want to change with ARK!
