Been hacking away at Rachmaninoff's famous C# minor prelude since February. I'd say it's 70 percent there, which I'm pretty proud of.
But I'd also say I myself am *not* 70 percent there, which any teacher would probably have told me beforehand.

Get a teacher and (crucially) listen to them.

Last week the German Meteorological Society warned that "the 3-degree limit could be exceeded as early as 2050".

While not possible to fully rule out, the assessed warming scenarios we published in the IPCC AR6 report find this to be extremely unlikely.

Like Ilona Eibenschütz, whom Brahms chose and taught himself (!) to premiere his intermezzi - recorded some 60 years later, from memory.

Music recommendation: Grandes Dames
Honest to goodness romanticism obviously doesn't land the way it used to, but this is such a beautiful repertoire of women composers. I especially loved discovering Rita Strohl and (the one contemporary) Lera Auerbach.

A great piece on Coal in China. Incidentally a key reason why I don't buy the full argument of @brettchristophers.bsky.social: Renewables obviously do cut into profits of brown plants. This is what "fuels" the whole ERCOT to traditional power market gamut debate.

Das Model ist problemlos kombinierbar mit einer Einkommensstaffel (zuletzt vorgeschlagen von @klimasozial.bsky.social
und @agoraew.bsky.social), minimiert jedoch Fehlanreize gegenüber der reinen Investitionsförderung.
Die Auszahlung kann je nach Bedarf der Haushalte flexibel ausgestaltet werden. 👇

Fiskalische Kosten: Etwa das, was das heutige BEG bei Zielerreichung auch kosten würde, ohne die Nebenwirkungen. /

Unser Vorschlag: Der Sanierungskostendeckel.
Haushalte werden so gefördert, dass sie vor und nach Sanierung und Heizungswechsel die gleichen laufenden Kosten haben.
Das ist unbürokratisch umsetzbar und adressiert gezielt Belastungsspitzen. /

Per Mikrosimulation haben wir uns die Verteilungswirkung der jetzigen Förderung (BEG) angeschaut. Hauptergebnis: Spitzenbelastungen von 900 EUR (5% des Einkommens) bleiben. Hinzu kommen nicht stemmbare Investitionssummen und "Überförderung" wirtschaftlicher Vorhaben. /
