lawyers I know handled, maybe a handful actually resulted in a strike. And even for those prisoners who got 3 strikes, there are exceptions. If the lawsuit is about imminent harm, the 3 strikes rule doesn’t apply. That’s just one of the trumped up claims in that article. Let’s see the numbers!

Gosh, there are so many things in that article that simply do not jive with reality. For example, the 3 strikes discussion and the statement that nearly any lawsuit can be dismissed, counting against the 3 strikes. In the more than 100 prisoner cases I’ve personally handled, and hundreds more

I don’t know if a debate is necessary. Perhaps “what is the PLRA,” “what is its purpose,” “how is it oppressive,” “is there any empirical evidence to support your statement,” “is there any empirical evidence to support the need for the PLRA,” could be a good start.

So there is no financial incentive to stop filing a bunch of frivolous lawsuits. That’s not to say all prisoner lawsuits are meritless. Of course, there are plenty that have merit but many more that don’t and just suck up resources and taxpayer dollars.

This episode was a bit disappointing. It was extremely biased with absolutely no explanation or challenge to those biases. For example, throwing in that the PLRA is oppressive. Look at the federal dockets. They are overflowing with prisoner cases DESPITE the PLRA & all those cases filed for free.

They put gold labels on all the different areas of the White House to help Donald the Dunce get around though, so, winning!🥇

How many lawyers do you think are in the U.S.? It’s more than a dozen. Lots of shitty ones, but your categorical statements are just hyperbole.

Becoming a lawyer is a good amount of work. Some of us really like doing the work. Being disbarred is shameful. That’s pretty good punishment. Bondi’s behavior is quite exceptional, so pretty wild to assume it’s representative of the bar.

Then why not retire now?

Just to clarify, these “LEGAL scholars” think it’s seditious for the military to disobey ILLEGAL orders, right? That’s what we are to believe? I may not be a “legal scholar,” but I am a practicing attorney, and I strongly disagree with his “legal scholars.”

I remember him talking about it, but no idea if he tried to file anything.
