My partner and I have been feeding a stray cat, who we nicknamed Charals (because he's at the window). Shimmy has developed a massive crush on Charals, and toots at him from the other side of the window every night. Shimmy is *distraught* when Charals eats and leaves.

For my ancestors who immigrated here from fascist Spain, or my Irish ancestors who came here seeking less scarcity, I imagine morale was pretty important too. To just keep going. To imagine it could be better. So maybe take a break today. Do something for your morale.

I know today was not a slow news day. But I think it's important to know that during a debate Scott Wiener refused to take a position on Palestinian genocide. He posted the statement below in response, and then deleted that statement after myself and other people expressed disappointment.

If someone says that "personally" they support something, but materially they support the opposite with large sums of money? That personal belief means nothing to me.
If I had a dollar for every ex-mormon who got sent to or threatened with conversion therapy, I could pay a lot of bills with that.

Here's Rumble in December of 2024, shortly after we brought him home from the SPCA. I think he aspired to become as big as Uncle Shimmy.

Rumble had his 1 year check up this weekend, as well as his annual vaccines. He is 1) perfectly healthy and 2) enormous. The last time the vet saw him he was about 7lbs. He weighed in at 15lbs at this appointment and the vet was shocked when she walked in and saw him!
