Libraries are free for you to use, serve the public good, are great, support creators financially and, I cannot be clear enough about this-- ARE FREE FOR YOU TO USE-- so pirating books makes you kind of an asshole, not some Marxist revolutionary.

Been dealing with ants and for some reason they are obsessed with getting into our freezer. But when they get in they freeze to death. In my mind now this has become a story where the ants must get to Antarctica, everything depends on it, and they just keep sending expeditions. Expedition 34.

My grandma was a librarian. I didn't set out to become a librarian when I went back to college, but I had work study, and ended up getting a job in the library. One of the librarians I worked with told me I'd be good at the job, and I thought yeah, could be.

Not a Boomer, but I had a very close relationship with my grandpa Hal, who was a WWII veteran. He passed in 2023 at 99 years old. In his last few months we talked a bit about the rise of Nazism in this country, and it broke his heart. Sometimes I'm so grateful he didn't live to see some things.

Let me just add that someone at the #knitandstitch show asked me if I would sell them the hat on the right (which was a sample) and I said sure, 30 euros and they said that was too much lol. 🧶
