I was laid off today, among hundreds of others at The Washington Post.
I loved covering games here, and I am so proud of our international coverage.
My colleagues — those who lost their jobs and those who didn't — are rockstars. It was such an honor to work alongside them.

My old journalism school still uses full-time people to talk to students. With the way media is actively collapsing, professors are doing a disservice to students by not actively showcasing what it's like to navigate this new landscape.
Journalism schools need to desperately hire more freelancers as lecturers to teach students how to make money, including gig comms work, while reporting on this side.
I've had this thought for a while, but especially as a paper of record gets decimated.
