Reading this and realizing that BL like Heated Rivalry is now in the "cozy" genre for a lot of people because it (sort of) removes the restrictions and trauma of hierarchical structures.

Also explains a lot about the comments I see on toxic smut.

They aren't wrong.
But not everybody wants to be a singer-songwriter—some of us want to be in a band. There is something about a shared effort, a wobbly but recognizable editorial voice, a publication that is a stage, not a microphone, that we missed, and wanted to try to make. There is something, in other words, about a magazine.

2026 isn't off to a great start, but we at the QT Library are trendsetters and think all of these things should be in for this year. It involves way more books, queer joy, and letting us be who we are without fear.

💭 What are you aspiring to be in 2026?

"What's in for 2026" on graph paper. There's also a polaroid of a Pride flag in a flower pot and a Q.T. Library stamp that says "approved" under it. What's in for 2026: Pride Month all year long except for July, which is Wrath Month. Buying thousands of dollars worth of books. Adding more books by authors from marginalized communities to the T.B.R. shelf. Stitch and bitch sessions. There's also a polaroid of people at a table crafting. What's in for 2026: Opening a pop-up. Existing in three dimensions. Having attainable goals that set you up for success. Reading more good books, not bad books. Reading books where queer characters have a nice time, you know? Steam Deck is an abomination that shouldn't have worked and YET.

Competitors have either been too niche, relied on cloud only, or were too expensive for most people. The closest we have is the ROG Ally, which should've been a slam dunk since you can actually get it at Best Buy. And YET
