“The left is missing out on AI!” YEP. Most of us want to miss out! If it ever proves its actual usefulness to our actual lives, stops plagiarizing, and is no longer an environmental disaster, maybe we revisit. Burden of proof is on the industry. So far they’ve done the opposite of that!

I had a student once wax poetically (unprompted) about stuff like this. Including how the moon was really a space station keeping an eye on Mars and how the asteroid belt was a planet that got Death Star'd by the moon and we had to secretly pay tribute to moon people to keep Earth alive.

It's like the people in pandemic thst bought more TP than they could use in a year. They created a problem everyone else had to deal with

I almost had a full blown panic attack taking out the trash in femme mode.
The first time I went to work I almost straight up quit in the parking lot. (Gotta feed those kids tho 😜)

agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.
