I am a descendant of both sides of the Thanksgiving table. Head preacher off the Mayflower. New England Native.

Enjoy your Feast with your people. That is a good thing.

But remember the American mythos of the holiday was constructed as an exercise in white people nonsense.

heyyyyy besties so it's looking like people have been buying Learn to Howl and the Company of Wolves which is great but, uh........well you see it's a trilogy, Baying the Moon is the middle bit 🐺
please buy and rate my books so scammers stop putting the descriptions into an LLM and emailing me about it!

LEARN TO HOWL is a complete trilogy about family, identity, and kicking ass as a fucking werewolf

I swear it sucks that AG Neronha is term limited. The man is doing more heavy lifting vs fascism than the governor or any of our national level electeds.
A lawsuit filed in US District Court in Rhode Island alleges that the Trump administration made illegal changes to funding for programs supporting people who are homeless that will cut access to long-term housing and potentially lead to the evictions nationwide.
R.I. AG leads coalition in lawsuit against Trump administration over HUD funding cuts to programs reducing homelessness - The Boston Globe
The lawsuit accuses HUD of dramatically reducing the amount of funding from a key grant program that can be spent on permanent housing, potentially lead to the evictions of thousands.

Some of my favorite SF books are out of the 70s and likely barely qualify as a novel today.

We had peak doorstopper space opera and high fantasy with the MMPBs of the 90s when the economy was great. MMPBs went down with the 00s recession.

I can see the paper price logic here.
What creates the seeming need for a "long and immersive" novel is capitalism. Esp in genre fiction, that expectation for a massive novel is tied to a) the availability of paper in the 1970s b) the amount of money publishers had to pay writers & c) a sense that "more is more." All of this is flawed.

For the curious, this is the book.

I promise, no one gets stalked.

There's a pursuit though. Think Fury Road, but with two bodyguards who don't trust each other up against an enemy that can't die.

Given the shrill little manchildren populating every fandom I see right now, I feel Moore's response tone here in my Chest.

Actually clapped at 'Oh give me a break.'
You guys interested in more stuff I pulled from Ron Moore’s ‘90s AOL chats with DS9 fans?

This was in reaction to a Season 5 ep retconning Dr. Bashir’s history. OH NO! The sacred CANON was violated!

Ron has the correct perspective (and more patience than I would have.)

I guarantee the New Brick Guy has said things like "disrupt the construction industry."

Cause apparently millenia of rectangular bricks aren't a good enough field test for this guy.
Right now on reddit there's a guy inventing a new kind of brick to build his home with and it's going about as well as you can imagine

Par for the course with the NFL.

Constantly excusing the behavior of the worst people just cause they are good at a game is no small part why I stopped watching football.

Always "Rome is dying but let's keep the Colosseum open to placate the masses" vibes with the NFL.

She's not wrong.

Juno can make anything an interesting read.

Journalistic writing is so vastly different than fiction writing, it's like breathing a different kind if air. I can't do it worth a damn and Juno always impresses me.
NO ONE IS PREPARED FOR MY OUTKAST PIECE PUBLISHING ON DEC 4 !!!!!!! like it's literally going to be -- ONCE AGAIN --

1) one of the greatest things ever written about this topic and these subjects

2) NO ONE does it like me. NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO DO IT LIKE ME ! i combined art and academia LMAO
November 25, 2025 at 4:22 PM
Hell yes.

I went through massive burnout trying to get published.

Publishing is straight up one of the stupidest, brutal industries ever. I had to untether myself from the notion that writing would ever save me from the shipyard.

Then I could lean into the joy of it again.
I think most artists hit a point where they’re like, well if I can’t be the best artist, I shall be the most ME artist.
