I am a chaos gremlin balanced out by my wife being orderly.

In writing, I need a map. Doesn't have to be detailed, but otherwise the ADD takes hold and I meander around too much.
A question for writers. I was thinking about the continuum between plotters and pantsers and wondered... Does writing style match your living style?

That is, are plotters more prone to organized clean workspaces while pantsers are more prone more chaotic and messy spaces?

If you ever feel like your self-promos are "cringe," just remember that Neil Gaiman used his first statement addressing the multiple credible accusations of sexual assault against him to try to get everyone hyped for his new book.

“The left is missing out on AI!” YEP. Most of us want to miss out! If it ever proves its actual usefulness to our actual lives, stops plagiarizing, and is no longer an environmental disaster, maybe we revisit. Burden of proof is on the industry. So far they’ve done the opposite of that!

This is absolutely heroic tbh, incredible work, succinct & precise
Swiss Olympic bobsled commentator broke a century of neutrality and spent the entire run of the Israeli bobsled team recounting all the pro-genocide remarks and social media posts by Adam Edelman, one of the apartheid state athletes.

Absolute legend. More of this in sports please!

Hell. Fucking. No.

And that's before we even get to the fact that I have a film degree and am perfectly qualified to make it myself.
Writers if you could drop your novel or short story into an AI and have it make a great and watchable movie out of your story, and you could sell that movie, would you do it? #writers #WritingCommunity

I had a student once wax poetically (unprompted) about stuff like this. Including how the moon was really a space station keeping an eye on Mars and how the asteroid belt was a planet that got Death Star'd by the moon and we had to secretly pay tribute to moon people to keep Earth alive.

It's like the people in pandemic thst bought more TP than they could use in a year. They created a problem everyone else had to deal with
seeing news about a "memory shortage." it's not a shortage. billionaires who hate you hoarded it all so they could make everything worse and stupider and more expensive, just like with most shortages

Cis people need to watch this. Literally every trans person goes through the fear roller coaster.

I almost had a full blown panic attack taking out the trash in femme mode.

The first time I went to work I almost straight up quit in the parking lot. (Gotta feed those kids tho 😜)

England: This road has been here 2000 years.

America: Something lasts 100 years and it's fancy af.
We've been on the Northern Line. The idea that it's 2000 years old seems completely reasonable.

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.
