That's so wrong. Of course teams benefit. If you know a team is missing their best player, it changes how you practice and maybe who you select. If you find out an hour before, it's very different.

It's not. Which team are missing players? They're the affected team. They're the ones disadvantaged by missing the players so to force them to announce days before that these players are missing further disadvantages them.

But again that just helps the opponent. It does nothing to benefit the team that actually suffers the injury. It just doesn't make sense to me.

They do though. They say no, take whatever fine from UEFA, and arrest anyone causing violence. Instead they've folded to the bigots.
(I'm under no illusion that any other club would behave differently tbh, but that's how it actually should be)

But the Saudi league haven't been targeting those players any more. They did to start the process but have now moved onto looking at players in their 20s - not least because a lot of the big names subsequently left again pretty sharpish including Neymar.

Yeah that's what I was meaning. ie injured players returning so better options and fewer minutes per player. I doubt we'll sign anyone in January outside of maybe a young development player etc but no first teamers.

We always play villa on the back of some crazy run of form, while we've just played 4 games against the harem globetrotters with a squad of 12. It's ridiculous. Every year.

But we're not. We were something like 9 points up on last season's equivalent fixtures. We beat Newcastle. We beat Fulham, West Ham etc etc. We've had the hardest fixture run out of any of the title contenders and we're top. And we've been missing at least 5 players for every single game.

Admittedly I'm a little hungover after two days of company Xmas parties but I felt physically sick when that went in.
I see it as 3pts dropped tbh. We'd righted the ship second half and we're the only team looking likely to score but the subs destabilised the team and let villa back in.

We've had at least 5 players injured for every single game this season. It has a massive impact. It's not like he's left tons of players on the bench all year. We only have 5 fit defenders. At one point we only had 2 fit forwards. What's he supposed to do?

Three points. It's a hard game but we were not good. We had a good 20 minutes and then subbed off Leo and saka and fell apart again. Lost all control.
