Oh no! Did you know that Apache OpenOffice has unfixed security issues, and is not recommended for production use: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_... – But there are actively maintained and fixed successor projects, still free and open source, with huge improvements and vital fixes...

OpenOffice's last big update was back in 2014 (it can't even export .docx), and now it has unfixed security issues: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_... – Not sure what distro you're using, but virtually all Linux distros moved years ago to LibreOffice, the actively maintained successor project!

Note that OpenOffice's last major update was in 2014. Since then development has mostly stopped, apart from some tiny updates, and it has unfixed security issues: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_... – Virtually all development moved to LibreOffice, the actively maintained and fixed successor project.

Don't just hope – make it happen! We love Impress improvements too, but they can only happen if people help our volunteers, or fund developers. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone chooses to give us 😊

Just curious – any reason you installed OpenOffice? It's had no major update since 2014, and has unfixed security issues: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_... – All Linux distros moved years ago to LibreOffice, as it's far more developed and has vital security fixes...

OpenOffice has barely been improved for 10 years, and has unfixed security issues so is strongly not recommended for production use: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_... – But there are more actively maintained successor projects, still free and open source (but with vital fixes), such as LibreOffice.
