luckily if you simply look at the url it should trigger a "SCAM ALERT" response from your brain - but it gets tricky because the owner bought many urls with <nameoftheband+merch>: example: wolvesinthethroneroommerch [dot] com or xiuxiumerch [dot] com

just found a scam website specialised in artist merch (legitmerchandise [dot] com)
after peeking inside its api, there's around 900 bands that have been copied and are displayed on this website

I'm a little biased because I'm a web developer, but I keep trying to make the case to people that there's an element of learned helplessness to this.

Kids in the late 90s / early 2000s were making websites and sharing them without getting paid, or listed on Google. We can still do that!
