I had a major brain fart when I designed my Artemis II patch. I left the gigantic area of black space empty. Realized too late to fix before production, so I ordered a sheet of DTF Earth's (you'll recognize it from Apollo 8's infamous Earthrise) and applied them myself. It totally saved the patch.

I had a major brain fart when I designed my Artemis II patch. I left the gigantic area of black space empty. Realized too late to fix before production, so I ordered a sheet of DTF Earth's (you'll recognize it from Apollo 8's infamous Earthrise) and applied them myself. It totally saved the patch.

I had this set, it was the affordable kin of the Galaxy Explorer 497. Only as an adult did I get to enjoy 497. I purchased an estate sale box of random LEGO for $75, when I got home I saw this piece in there and couldn't believe it. It was 98% complete!

You don't see the back of the Nobel Peace Prize very often. The front is definitely more interesting.

The video taken from the passenger side of the vehicle does appear to show the agent in front of the headlight, however it does not justify the use of force.

Our new kitten, Washburn, wandered into the shower with me this morning and was unfazed. He also knocked my vintage NASA MSFC Skylab cutaway model off the top shelf. That one hurts. He’s a maniac gremlin.

I spent NYE with @photojdl.bsky.social in Skagit county spotting owls. This was a first for me, but there were dozens of veteran spotters there. I stupidly forgot my longer lens so all my stuff is super cropped. The close up photo was with JDL’s 600mm prime 😮

2025 was among the worst for us but there were some highlights. This is my favorite photo from the year. My grandkids went in the van with us to Yosemite. It’s a tight fit but making core memories with these guys is absolutely worth it. #vanlife
