The dopamine divide between in school and out of school has certainly grown, largely due to devices (but other factors too).
Trying to compete with a device is next level hard.
I’d be happy to see pedagogy and curricula evolve to at least be interesting to kids.

For the record, I do NOT think it's OK for school to be boring. The research agrees.

Student boredom has an effect size of -0.49. That's a reverse impact on learning.
