Many birds with young migrated through Chicago last night.

At least 100 were found dead in downtown Chicago this morning-& it’s only the beginning. Many bird strikes go unreported.

Keep lights out 11pm-6am to prevent bird deaths

I’m pretty sure investing in riparian corridors is the best bang for buck. A gift that keeps on giving and far less depressing than asphalt or concrete

"Public drinking water comes from the rivers where hellbenders swim, or at one time swam. The water they breathe courses through our bloodstream. We are in this planetary aquarium with them. Every action we take to save hellbenders will help save us," writes Curry.

Nearly 400 marine mammals have washed up sick or dead on California’s Central Coast since June. Leptospirosis, toxic algal blooms, food collapse. The ocean itself is becoming uninhabitable for the life it holds — and most deaths go unseen. #RacingToExtinction

Marine mammals are dying in record numbers along the California coast — Los Angeles Times

“BLM touts juniper removal while snow still hides the scars. Invasive grasses haven’t sprouted yet, so the site looks ‘healthy.’ By fall many are bare, weedy and lifeless. Without transparent monitoring, photos mislead more than inform. 4/6
A recently cleared juniper site with patches of snow still on the ground. Stumps and bare soil are partly obscured; invasive grasses have not yet emerged.
