I suppose we should all be grateful MTG has had a "road to Damascus" moment but, seriously, why did it take so long? And is she a nicer person as a result, or still a deeply unpleasant & foul-mouthed individual who just happens to find herself on the same side of the anti-Trump coalition?

The Tories & those further right have been gunning for the BBC for years, e.g. former "Culture" Secretary Mad Nads. They have appointed those with similar views to important posts & some of the most influential journalists have clear links to the Tories; it's been a coup in the making for years.

If you needed a reason to block the sale of ITV to Sky's American owners, this is also it. Trump & his UK cheerleaders such as Farage, Charles Moore, etc., want to turn our country into a supine vassal state of Trumpton. The British media is far from perfect but we need to maintain our independence.
