꩜ 100 x 80 cm, mixed media

A large canvas sat on top of a piano. Torn up book pages form a tight spiral pattern that serves as a background, a larger spiral is painted on top in a messy way in black paint.

I enjoy a well-thought-out, rule-based magic system in fiction as much as anyone, BUT I also think that we should give more props to what Terry Pratchett did in the Discworld books, where it was less about rules and more about vibes and, more importantly, what fit a given story the best.

Discworld: A disc-shaped world atop 4 elephants atop a giant turtle flying through space.

recently stumbled upon a digital archive of decades upon decades of vintage Playboy magazines (fuck Hugh Heffner, may he never rest in peace) with highly memeable contents
A simple black-and-white “line art” illustration consisting of two almost identical panels, next to one another, each containing a figure who is wearing a masculine suit shown in side-profile, facing left. The figures are only show from barely above the chin to around their knees. The person on the left has a noticeable bulge in the back of their trousers, suggesting either the presence of a wallet or them having a big butt, while the person on the right has a flat silhouette with no bulge.

Below each panel is some text that reads: 'Some men have it. Some don’t.

Baba Yaga ink drawing from 2016

the idea was in times of urbanisation, even century old beings like Baba Yaga have to adapt. people don't just wander off into the woods anymore. adapt or be forgotten. adapt or die.

no, I've not read 'american gods'
