TikTok was a means to quickly and easily gather news from a large variety of sources in minutes. It wasn't just cat videos and dancing for most of us.
Science tok was phenomenally informative and thought provoking. I learned so much more than A&P ever did.

I know for many TikTok was a silly little app and for just as many it was so much more. I joined shorty after the pandemic hit as a means to escape. It got me through being laid off and unemployed for a year, watch my mom die of covid, go through neck surgery, and get a new job in an inner city ER.

RFK Jr. visited Samoa in 2019. He met with anti-vaccine activists and helped spread skepticism about vaccines, which contributed to a subsequent measles outbreak later that year. This outbreak resulted in over 5,700 infections and 83 deaths, mostly among children.
