I just had a family decline/delay vaccines explicitly because of “controversy in the news.” As a pediatrician, I am terrified.

White supremacy is a death march, and fascism is the drumbeat pushing it forward.

We have a choice: resist or be dragged down with it.

Doctors and nurses, this is for you. When ICE is trying to raid your hospital, or when your hospital executives are telling you to end programs addressing racial and gender health inequalities or telling you to stop providing trans or abortion care—please, please disobey.

Everyone can organize.

Everyone can contribute to social movements.

Everyone can do something, from somewhere.

None of this is about "professionalism" or policy"expertise. That is counterinsurgency, demobilizing logic.

Everyone can organize and has something to offer.

I say this as much to myself as anyone else: this is their goal. To pelt us with every vile declaration & action, to make us feel battered, powerless & defeated at every turn.

I just keep reminding myself to feel my feet on the Earth, breathe, get in my lane, reach out across lanes & fight.
