This is where you learn which companies you don't want to work for.

In a hurry? Stand.
Not at home? Stand.
Otherwise I'll sit.

30 mins is way too short.

I usually give these a like, so that whenever I'm doomscrolling bluesky I know when I've caught up.

So when I saw this, I thought that this was a new one I haven't read before.

I have, in fact, re-introduced that mental picture of melted, sweaty cheb-flavoured lindor. Unfortunately.

This is the truth if I've ever heard it.

I'd honestly keep working, and make bank.

As many as it takes, I suppose

Yeah, problem is that I use workspace for my company, so we're really quite tied in unfortunately, and any changes I make kinda reflects on the team too.

But filen actually looks really cool, and is cheaper as well.

I might just do that tbh, back on Win now and it's purgatory haha.

Yeah I was thinking about switching services or maybe even doing an FTP server, but problem is that gdrive is kinda tied in with the rest of the suite, so we would have to get new mail-clients, calendar, office and so on.

Yeah, I've tried rclone, Celeste and insync.

rclone (even with the UI browser) seems a bit clunky and even ate one of my folders, which was a pain in the ass to get back 😅

Insync is closed source and paid. Not really my gig, but works fine I suppose.

Celeste is probably the best imo.

Yeah I've been trying the online accounts thing out, but I need something that caches files locally, since I work with heavy-ass 4K files.

Been trying out alternatives, and Celeste seems to be alright, but kind of a hassle to choose which files to sync. 🤔

So I've been back and forth like crazy the last few days whether to stay on win or to make the switch, and I'm starting to feel that the right move might be to try dualbooting Gnome and some completely deflated windows iso for a while. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

And for the past few days I've been back on windows and I've been hating it, now that I've tried Linux, which actually is so much better than last time I tried it out (15+ years ago) it just installs from an .iso and just WORKS, straight out the box, WiFi, Bluetooth and everything.

E.g. some very niche plugins for an app that actually run on Linux, but not for my hardware, even though it runs just fine on windows (???)

And also Google drive desktop?? Why is that not supported?

So anyway I've been back and forth whether I can be arsed to make it work or not.

So I installed a shit ton of distros, learned a LOT, and ultimately settled on Ubuntu with Gnome, and told myself, if I get all the apps that I use for work up and running, I'll make the switch for good.

I've made it far, but there are some blocks, that I won't be able to clear.
