The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

Kristi Noem, while governor of South Dakota, supplemented her roughly $130,000 salary by secretly accepting $80,000 donated to a political nonprofit she was affiliated with, records show.

She never disclosed this income on federal ethics forms.

Worth remembering, as Trump tries to brutalize blue states over alleged TANF fraud: Mississippi's former welfare director ran TANF as a private slush fund, routing tens of millions to churches, wrestlers, and celebrity pet projects (including Brett Favre's)—while rejecting over 90% of poor families.
NEW: Text messages reveal the strange relationship that John Davis, the former Mississippi official who directed millions in welfare dollars to sports celebrities, shared with WWE wrestlers Ted DiBiase Jr. and Brett DiBiase.

"It is me who tried to buy your love," he wrote in one text read in court.

CBS pulled the 60 Minutes CECOT segment, but Canada aired it anyway.

The segment was streaming via Global TV and YouTube (since taken down). Having a VPN set to Canada helped. 🇨🇦

My take, there is no reason we shouldn’t see this. Most of it was known information, easily searchable.

Those mysterious extra charges on your holiday purchases aren't a scam; they're tariffs. (via Bloomberg Opinion)
Your Holiday Gift Contains a Lump of Tariffs
President Donald Trump, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick say the tariffs imposed on imports to the US aren't a tax on American consumers. Never mind that any credible economist says the opposite. The nonprofit Tax Foundation figures the duties equate to an average tax increase of $1,000 per household this year, rising to $1,400 in 2026.
