Friends, if you have concerns about what the madman at the wheel is doing when it comes to foreign affairs concerning Venezuela, Greenland, Denmark & who knows who else, call or write your reps! Squawking about DJT & Rubio on social media doesn’t reach them.

Use 5calls(dot)org if you need help.

There Are No Rules (Really) to making blackout poetry.

The words you choose don’t have to make logical sense in the way a sentence does. Instead, you’re free to create a mood, evoke an emotion, or stumble upon combinations that surprise you—or make you pause.

Here’s (most of) the books I read in 2025. Some poetry, fiction, and nonfiction—some tender -hearted, others hilarious, and mostly character-driven.

Do you see any that you read? If so let’s follow each other. I’m always up for recommendations!

2026: Low expectations. Big hope.

Also Cowboy has no idea why I asked him to sit in front of my porch chalkboard. He swears he has never been the cause of chaos.

A poem which my parents become televisions:

I’d never heard of the prose poem until I discovered the late Russell Edson many years ago. He blew my mind. So, here's an introduction to the prose poem– "a little box of surprises" – and a writing exercise for you.

She asked me for these funny socks that look like the lamp, and was so excited that I actually got them for her. She put them on and jumped onto the couch near the lamp to pose. I told her she didn’t see what else was in the bag. She screamed. It blew her mind. Wild!
