When love letters from a bereaved stranger land in her lap, an anxious overthinker becomes convinced she’s the cure & sets off to save him, & herself, blissfully armed with nothing but her magical thinking. #booksky
I’m fired up to have my poem “The Book of Girls Who Burn” appear on New Verse News today.

It’s for all the girls and women who grew up hearing quiet piggy.

I love this Linda, thank you for writing it. I’d like to share it with so many people I know. The holidays are hard for a lot of people who don’t have perfect family situations, me included! This is good advice for all.
As the holidays get closer, I find myself wanting to ask one small favor of my friends: Please don’t ask me what I’m doing for Thanksgiving or Christmas. After the holidays, please don’t ask how mine were.

New stack on the app. It’s free.

I remember the days when avocado green was a popular color for appliances but hardly anyone had seen a real avocado!

I wrote a poem THE BOOK OF QUIET GIRLS WHO BURN listing all the shit that happened to me growing up. I’m sure many other women could add to it. It felt good to write it and end it with
“I remember every one of you.
Quiet. Quiet piggy.”

We should never be quiet.

A new transparency feature on X reveals that many loud, “patriotic” voices in the MAGA ecosystem aren’t located in the US at all. A shocking number operate Russia, Nigeria, India, Thailand & other countries.

So glad I left that cesspool!

I’m getting giddy just thinking about it.

Trump's rants against Democrats have inspired everything from death threats and pipe bombs to the January 6th assault on the Capitol.

This is a time to take him literally and seriously.
Important: House Dem leaders just said Trump's call for execution of Dems has prompted them to contact US Capitol Police and House Sergeant at Arms to "ensure the safety of these members and their families."

Treat Trump like an unhinged menace. He's weak and in deep political trouble. Don't let up.

Trump and Vance are not invited to former VP Cheney’s funeral, but Biden, Bush and four former living vice presidents are invited and attending. No surprise there.

Please don't use “Truth be told” in your writing, unless you purposely want to sound antiquated. Let’s not stop there though... ditch the dated language that can make otherwise fresh writing feel tired or generic.
