A safe space for creativity and healing through art is exactly what we are trying to provide here. Kids need to feel safe and valued now more than ever. Even if no one shows up, we stay open every weekday just in case 💚

No students showed up for my afterschool art class today, so we're making the most of it with this pollinating Halictid. 🎨

I have an acute aversion to the color orange (especially living in the US right now 🫠) but the underpainting method has been helping brighten midtones/improve realism.

A wonderful #InverteFest visitor! Giant Ichneumon Wasp 🌿

A huge, gangly wasp ovipositing in a dead beech tree. Her abdomen is long, and her ovipositor is much longer. It loops from the end of her abdomen over her back, then enters the tree trunk perpendicularly.
