Was supposed to be my rest day but as I’m travelling abroad tomorrow evening, Im just continuing the plan and scheduling the rest while travelling.
Not too bad. Still slow but better than the last mile run.

Woke up sluggish and tired. Even if I was careful, I did ate too much yesterday compared to other days.
But refused to have another bad run. Took the time to walk up to the track field and the whole 5 mins warmup to bend my mindset to a positive one.

And it worked. Happy with my speed run.

OMG … first pre Xmas dinner at home before I leave for France. Took a lot of self control to not eat all this delicious homemade food.
Foie gras, cheese and potatoes, cider roasted chicken with pear and salsifis, panetonne …

Urghhhh … not a good run at all today. Started in a good mood and happy but as soon as I started running felt super sluggish and out of fuel. Had plenty of minor pains (ankle/knee/pain) and ended up walking most of it.
The 25+K steps the day before are the designated culprit… 😫

And after my run, went for a family walk with the dog. That ended up being a family run (except for the dog who was like “what you’re doing ? Walking ? Running ? You’re so slow… but I’m happy I’m with you”

Felt great and an awesome moment for all of us.

Was in a super good mood this morning and happy to be back to training after 2 days without.
Was purposefully slow because I wanted to run the most I could. Ended up walking just to 3-4 minutes.

48 years overdue.

And another fartlek (still giggling at the name although there’s zero reason …) today. Recovery runs between intervals were very slow but it’s ok. Warm up run getting easier to do. Breathing was calm and steady lol the long.

That’s how early I wake up for my runs. And as my run will become longer, will probably need to wake up earlier to be on time to get Sasha ready for school.

Day 18.
Quite happy with my run today. Slow but steady. Would walk for a minute or so at mark 5-10-15.
Did feel a bit dehydrated though. Need to be careful with that.

Day 16 of training. Challenging but much better than yesterday. Did my first fartlek (and yeah even if I speak Swedish I can’t help but giggle at the name).
Tomorrow is a very welcomed rest day !

Starting my 3rd week.
Was not easy at all. Fatigue from my previous insomnia and a (too light) dinner resulted in very little fuel for this run. A series of little inconveniences made me grumpy.
I ran but walked about 30%. Felt sluggish.

It’s Nike Running app plan for a 5K. To be fair, I feel that it really helps me make big progress. Some days are harder but overall I like it. It’s challenging, but manageable.

Day 12.
This session was so difficult. The warmup went super fine but then the first interval at mile pace almost took me out. The recovery were only 30s long and I struggled during the whole thing.
But again … didn’t die.
And rest day tomorrow is very welcomed 😮‍💨

Day 11.
Almost ran the entire 12 minutes (-40seconds I needed to walk).
Getting used to my new shoes.
Small progress but progress.
I think what I am most proud of is the breathing.

Warm up this morning was actually hard. Had to walk half of it. But intervals went pretty well.
To be honest, not unhappy that tomorrow is rest day.

So yesterday was rest day and today was a Mile (1.6km for civilized people) long run.
I’m happy to report that it went pretty well !
I’m slow but it’s work in progress and already a big step from where I begun.
