Since beginning a 12-month towing pilot in September, we have lifted 400 abandoned or untaxed vehicles from the public highway and housing estates.

Happy 400 Towed Cars Day.

Anyone remember this Porsche we towed? No registered keeper, no tax, no insurance, unpaid parking tickets. Now a guy with no proof of ownership reckons he should be able to claim it from the pound because he's a nice guy.

That's not how this works.
Is this your Porsche 911? Maybe pay your parking tickets once in a while.

Based on the number of cars we have towed that have no registered keeper, I doubt this graph is an indication of a change in overall traffic levels.
Onwards and downwards to the future, fellow Londoners! 🚀

What are the chances that an untaxed vehicle also has more than 20 unpaid parking tickets? Pretty good, I would say.

I'm staying in a hotel this weekend outside of London. A lot of people on my floor apparently read The Sun and the Daily Mirror. I should have ordered Private Eye to be delivered.

I am currently on the phone with someone who is trying to argue that because THIS was in a pay-and-display bay, that it should not have been towed.

What do we think?

"Tricks" people play to avoid getting a parking ticket:
1. Leave an old PCN on the screen and pretend it's from today
2. Take the plates off the car
3. Obscure the VIN

As it happens, the thick gloves were not thick enough this morning. I realize I live in London and their are cyclists in Yorkshire and Wales and Scotland and Canada who are probably in shorts and vests in this temp. But I'm from California. 🥶

What is the likelihood of a link between shady car traders and drug dealers?

Here is why I ask:

Since we started towing cars, we have been focusing on shady auto trading hot spots.

We have lifted:
- 3 cars with drugs in
- 1 with a weapon

If anyone needs me, I'm taking the rest of the day off and dreaming about what this would look like.
It's not putting any money back into my family's pocket because we don't have a car and can't afford to buy a new one either. Imagine if the UK cycle manufacturing industry get the level of support that car makers do!

Lifted 21 things from the housing estate. Mostly cars, some motorbikes. And two of these trailers.

Got called a "bitch" which was lovely. Still, a good job.

Another day, another housing estate.

I have lived in the UK for about 10 or 11 years now and I have adopted most British isms. But the storage compartment of a car is a "trunk" not a "boot." Fight me.

Tune in tomorrow for another (possibly) long day of towing in one single, problematic area. How many cars will we lift?
November 13, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Total vehicles lifted today: 20. This does not include the man who showed up at the last minute and grudgingly agreed to sort out his MOT and tax and the lady who needed help pushing her car onto her drive to get it off the road.

On a housing estate today. We have lifted 12 vehicles so far. And we may be half done.
