In some of the world's worst timing, my graphic novel came out today. 3.5 years of hard work to bring one of my scripts to life and it turned out beautifully. Please consider buying a copy for the kids in your life.
The first and final photo. If you've read Present, you know the one 😭

Throwback to the time I stole a bunch of flyers from around campus, ripped them into tiny pieces and made my dorm room into a giant mural.

Just finished writing a new short I'm going to film with @carihaimactor.bsky.social !

Had a rough week and woke up at 330 am today, unable to go back to sleep. I couldn't handle sitting in the dark for 4 hours until the sun rose, so I went on a 'dark night of the soul' walk while the world slept.

If the second draft is the hardest, the third is definitely the most fun!

I don't have the bandwidth to spend the last weeks of the year working on one of my features so I'm writing a really fun short to film myself!

My mom heard a hot tip about a warehouse getting a shipment and had the school secretary babysit her first grade class while she went and stood in a parking lot to get them for my sister and I. They were sold out in 20 minutes.

Is it a 'these kids today' fad that my 16 year old daughter is asking for a 1.2 million dollar John Deere combine harvester for Christmas?

Overheard a conversation in the teacher staff room at work today that sparked a short script I will be writing tomorrow, it was that good!

Life is hard but I'm a really good cook.

Starting to compile my 'best of' list of all the peer scripts I've read this year and I'm afraid I can't do categories this time because 90% of my favorites have been comedies!

I took a turn on a stunt feature and am now writing a musical with original lyrics. I am in way over my head.

I am just 5 years younger than my boomer parents were when they retired with a full pension, 1 year cash buy out and became snowbirds. I can't even afford to replace my couch with a hole in it.

Eavesdropping on my Zalpha teens having a conversation and it sounds like an alien language. This is why most movies and shows about teens are nostalgia pieces! You couldn't keep up with this generation if you tried!

A couple weeks ago one of the 3 features I was struggling with this year clicked and it all came together so fast. Today another one clicked. Best feeling in the world.

I was mortified back when my daughter drew our family dinner as her eating in front of the tv with her dad. With her autistic sister we could never manage meals together. I wrote a pilot this year to bring light to the shame and isolation I felt living in a house full of ND family members.

Wanted to introduce my daughter to the OG Overboard with Goldie Hawn, but my library only had the 2018 Anna Ferris version. We loved it though! I think the remake was as good or better than the original! She loves movies where the characters 'act like ladybugs'.

Starting a new script today. This one has been begging to be written for a while now. Time to dig deep.

It's been an extremely challenging year personally, financially and creatively. I am glad there is only one month left.

Got a 'no' email on a previous 'maybe' today. It doesn't just take one yes, it's an endless series of doors that never amount to anything. Still, I'm happy I'm ending 2025 with two new scripts I'm proud of and ready to throw into the hope roller coaster in the new year.

As a Canadian who celebrated Thanksgiving 6 weeks ago (in much nicer weather), I am begging you- please post as many food photos as possible so I can live vicariously.

Still no email and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. I guess I didn't get into the Sundance lab.
