An autumnal view of Talkin Tarn, Talkin Tarn Country Park, Brampton, Cumbria on a bright December day. Looking from the path by the shore across the calm waters of the tarn to the trees in the distance on the opposite shore. In the middle of the picture a fallen tree rests in the shallow blue waters of the tarn. There are ducks stood on the tree trunk and some in the water close to the tree. The sky above is bright blue. It is reflected in the still waters of the tarn, as is the fallen tree. There are a few light ripples on the water, some from the movement of the ducks. Talkin Tarn is a kettle-hole lake formed by the immense force of glaciers 18,000 years ago. Moving ice scoured and carved the landscape leaving glacial sand hills and a natural bowl, which filled with water as the ice sheet melted. The name Talkin is derived from the Celtic 'Talcan' meaning brow of a hill. The word 'Tarn' is Norse in origin, 'Tjorn' meaning tear drop or small lake.

The "fire of Pentecost" stained glass window in St. Vitus Cathedral (the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert), Prague, Czech Republic. It has bright intense colours. It is in the St. Andrew chapel and was designed by Max Švabinský. This Art Nouveau window depicts the biblical event of Pentecost, where the Holy Spirit came down upon the apostles in the form of tongues of fire. It is notable for its beautiful depiction of the event, which is clearly recognizable by the fire motif descending on the gathered believers. A detail in the window is a man in the bottom right holding a pretzel, a detail not mentioned in the biblical account, which has led to speculation about its meaning, possibly related to the patron who commissioned the window. St. Vitus Cathedral is the largest and most important church in the Czech Republic, known for its French Gothic architecture. Construction on the cathedral began in 1344 but was not completed until 1929. The cathedral is home to several stunning stained glass windows created by 20th-century Czech artists. The windows flood the cathedral's interior with intense colour and light.

The street is part of the Grainger Town area, developed by Richard Grainger between 1824 and 1841. It has more Georgian buildings than anywhere outside London and Bath.
