Can you imagine yourself or any minimally decent person you know trying to cultivate a friendship with someone who’s been convicted of sex crimes against minors? It’s such an abysmally low bar, and apparently one none of these folks could clear.

The amount of Jurassic Park references and jokes(?!) I’ve been seeing in response is infuriating. Many seem to be treating this as one bad actor because he got to close to money. No. Not only are there many men who are abusers in paleo, they are still in their positions and keep their prestige.

Dinosaur paleontology is rife with sex pests and bullies. Men who have the academy on their side and count on the benefit of the doubt, usually keeping their jobs and prestige even when their abuses come to light.

I hope we get some daylight because I’m not kidding, the science needs a reckoning.
