As the president of a library Board of Trustees, I approve this message.
If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

Finished Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Talents a couple of days ago. Still reeling from its chilling realism, prophetic plot, and the simple truths laid out by its protagonist. Living within the plot arc of several dystopian fictions wasn’t in my ideal plan for becoming an empty nester.
