Someone tagged me into this as, in Drach's absence, the person on BlueSky most likely to know (without guessing) how navies handled cat poo. I am VERY offended.

Bad news: I wrote to the Museum of Maritime Pets in Maine to ask how cat poops and pee were handled on ships before litter was invented. They didn't know! But they're very curious, too, and want me to keep them updated. We can all make educated guesses but I want to see what actual records say.

I made the decision to put glitter in my hair for a very gold and sparkly party ensemble yesterday, and I'm having a very big "reap what you sow" evening :^/ and probably rest of my life :^/

Hey! If you love your vet here's a quick reminder that there's still time to send them a Christmas card. It might seem like a small thing but I've heard from vet staff (and shelters!) that it means a lot to them! Their work is hard and they often hear more anger and complaints than thanks. ❤️

If you’re interested, the tip is finding White Lily flour. So I use this recipe that I’ve always used but sub in White Lily self raising flour and omit the baking powder and salt. www.noracooks.com/vegan-butter...
