My favorite thing is that the climactic conflict in the plot in the final third is about their individual baggage coming to a head, not any eye-roll-inducing miscommunication or something. Because they’re middle-aged people who know how to talk to each other. 😅

The first thing that came to mind is ROLE PLAYING by Cathy Yardley. It’s m/f, but heavy queer vibes (she’s demi, he’s bi). They’re gen-Xers who meet in an online role playing game and there’s some fun mistaken identity at first.

I usually bought direct from the publishers back in the day, but All Romance was my go-to one-stop for self-pub and indie pubs who didn’t sell direct.
