Love all of God's creatures great and small. With eyes of faith we can see beyond the darkness.

During the day, Bush Stone-curlews tend to remain inactive, sheltering in tall grass or beneath low shrubs. These four made no effort to hide, showing their graceful movements as they came towards me. (Burhinus grallarius)

Bloody hell! Just after sunset we saw a male Powerful Owl in a nest hollow, purring inside for several minutes, as the female looked on calling 20m away! Usually POwl don't investigate hollows until late March/April, so this is massively early.

My favorite experience from 2025 was watching a pair of Great Horned Owl nests from helpless nestlings all the way to fierce young owls. They are such amazing creatures. 🦉

I've spent most of my 6+ decades living somewhat close to saltwater and even worked in Alaska on fishing boats in my late teens. Point being, I've seen eight zillion Seagulls in my life but up until June of this year I never saw a baby and I saw lots of them! #PismoBeach #Birds #Nature #Photography
