In 2020, I was (like most) in a really dark and depressed place. One day, I turned on an episode of @flophousepodcast.bsky.social (the one where Elliot introduced his Tom Brokaw as a Dune-head) and felt earnest joy for the first time in months. That silly episode gave me legitimate hope in life.

i heard the sentence “the bureau gets adjusted” on an episode of @flophousepodcast.bsky.social 14 years ago and it has never left my head since
5. Die Hard on a plane
4. Die Hard on a boat
3. Die Hard in a skyscraper
2. The bureau gets adjusted
1. Die Hard on a train
My favorite genres are:

1. Giant monster appears, society copes
2. Gangsters/crooks destroy each other over money/power
3. Ordinary folks dealing with real, human scaled modern problems
4. History film that is not about kings or military
5. Child survives incredibly dangerous environment

I honestly think almost nobody needs to care about opening weekend box office except industry analysts and people with a financial stake. In the long run, finances affect what you see — obviously yes. But do you, a civilian and movie lover, need to care about this stuff? I don’t think so.
Articles like this are frustrating as they point to the importance of opening weekend ticket sales but also ignore the long game on a film like this, which was a gamble from the start. Director Bong’s films aren’t blockbusters and neither is this, despite its budget.

I genuinely hate it when white tourists try to skimp on expenses when hiking in places that are clearly not beginner friendly. HIRE A FREAKING GUIDE!! It's cheaper than being hospitalized. Or dying.
