Congratulations. I'm glad the Gundams will no longer be living in sin.

I'll be curious to hear how that cleaner works for you. I've been looking at that model, and the VEVOR Ultrasonic.

September 30, 2017 - The Shins @ Greek Theatre
I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. I wasn't terribly keen on the recent album, and the lineup was newly shuffled with folks brought in from Broken Bells and Radiation City, but it wound up being an excellent night.

August 19, 2017 - The Alarm @ Harlow's
I went into this one without realizing just how much of their material had imprinted on my memory over time. And not just me. It seemed like every other touring act who had a show in town made an effort to catch the end of Mike's set and celebrate his music.

August 12, 2017 - Holiday Flyer @ Sacramento Bike Kitchen
Every once in a while, Katie and John put their main projects aside and perform a set of their Holiday Flyer material. I don't think it happened again until the albums were reissued in 2019.

July 22, 2017 - Kelly McFarling @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
These days, I don't get to hear Kelly perform nearly as often as I used to, despite her relative proximity. This is a damn shame. At least I still have shows like this one to remember during the downtime between appearances.

July 15, 2017 - yOya @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
I always find it interesting when bands with a strong folk background discover and incorporate electronic music into their production. Sometimes that can lead to disaster, but in this case I found it very effective. I hope they are still making music.

July 01, 2017 - Madeline Kenney @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
I believe this was my second time hearing Madeline perform. The first left a strong enough impression that I came out to hear her (even though she was the opener), and she did not disappoint. And is that a young Derek Barber on second guitar?

June 17, 2017 - Sunbathe @ The Knockout
This was a solo project from Maggie Morris, and she put together an amazing lineup of session players for this tour. This is the one of the few times I've gotten to see Jenny Logan play bass, and it was astounding.

June 03, 2017 - Lapel @ Great American Music Hall
Deb Neigher was a regular session player in the Bay Area music scene. This was my first introduction to her headlining her synth-pop outfit, Lapel. The set was pure catharsis, and I still hope she will some day return to this body of work.

March 22, 2017 - Vita and the Woolf @ Harlow's
This Jennifer Pague project caught me by surprise when they came out on tour with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. I don't know if they are active any longer, but remembering her performance of 'Mary' still gives me chills.

March 15, 2017 - Pure Bathing Culture @ Harlow's
Another band from the Northwest I always try to make time for. Sarah and Daniel are always a delight, and it was fun to see them make the leap from Vetiver to this project.

February 03, 2017 - The Joy Formidable @ Swedish American Music Hall
The one and only time I've ever seen Joy Formidable turn in an acoustic set. Two notable things about this evening: The campground inspired stage dressing, and Jason Narducy sneaking onto the bill as an early opener.

More than a decade later, I find I still have a negative visceral reaction to that book cover. That is one internet personality I am glad decided to stay out of the limelight once they shifted from fame to infamy.

October 22, 2016 - Damien Jurado @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
This was the second time I got to hear Damien perform. This time was in support of the final release in the Maraqopa trilogy "Visions Of Us On The Land", and locked in my eternal appreciation of the song "A.M. AM".

September 24, 2016 - Royal Canoe @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
I still have vivid memories of this performance. The booker went out of their way to let me know I should not miss this show under any circumstances, and they were correct to do so.

September 02, 2016 - Swansea @ Mississippi Pizza Pub
Three of my favorite human beings who I rarely get to see perform together. Every time I head north of the California border, it is likely to see one or more of them.

When I lived in Georgia it was 'Ol' Bob Miller's Sas'Parilla'. Noted less for the flavor, and more for the fact that you could agitate the carbonation to the point where you could make a can explode by rolling it down the driveway during summer months.

August 04, 2016 - Emily Jane White @ Sophia's Thai Kitchen
There has always been a lot of overlap between bay area bands. This incarnation of Emily included Laura and Anton from Foxtails Brigade, and is still one of my favorite arrangements of her work.

June 04, 2016 - Trashcan Sinatras @ The Troubador
I think this was the first tour I saw them perform without Davy, and the last tour I saw them perform with Stephen. Not that they've left the band or anything, it just didn't make financial sense for them to join the later overseas acoustic tours.
