Policing Patients turned one this week 🥹 I am so grateful for the opportunities this book has given me to speak up for people who use drugs and for people in pain. And I’m awed by the activists, scholars, professionals, and lawmakers who fight for what’s right despite strong political headwinds.

I am deeply moved by the scholars and activists who devote themselves to making sure that people who use drugs and people with chronic pain are treated with care and respect, not cruelty and punishment. I hope that my work can make some small difference in this fight.
