Anatoli Gigauri, 2008 war veteran and UNM member, has been sentenced to 2 years in prison after his charges were suddenly reclassified at the last moment. The videos show a police officer hitting him first.

This is the 12th prison sentence tied to anti–Georgian Dream protests.

Insaf Aliyev, detained for participating in pro-EU protests, has begun a hunger strike.

Aliyev was moved from a new cell which has no water and a broken sewage system. After asking for assistance, instead of fixing the problem, officials sent him to solitary confinement.

Judge Galustashvili sentenced Temur Zasokhashvili and Davit Lomidze to 4 years and 6 months.

They’re accused of throwing Molotovs. Both deny charges.

As the judge reminded them they could ask for a pardon Davit said:
“There will be no pardon.”

Today is Temur’s birthday.

Today is the anniversary of the 2008 war.
Zviad Ratiani, a political prisoner, was the chief engineer at Geocell at the time. When explosions were destroying fiber-optic joints and Georgia lost connection, two people went to work: Zviad and Hofnet employee. He restored connections under gunfire.

This is Dr. Giorgi Akhobadze on Rustaveli Avenue, just hours after his release, following 8 months in pre-trial detention.

He was acquitted of severe drug charges, the first not-guilty verdict in a politically motivated protest-related cases.
