Looking for the common ground, there is alway something; for me and slugs it is that we both want to eat the cabbages I grow.

Political but not party political. British & European. Brexit was a mistake.

I'm too old to bother with age verification.

Maybe someone should explain again to those who missed the last 10 years of #Brexit debates that the FoM (of workers) is key to achieve the 4 freedoms and also that is reciprocal.

It’s not an “EU ask”, it’s part of the economic model.

It is not just a currency. It is a sign of belonging - that your place is not on the periphery, but in a space of common rules, trust and responsibility. A sign that the efforts you have made have been recognized and accepted. [..] Bulgaria is Europe. And Europe is Bulgaria."

Sounds reasonable, but I looked up some of the "family farm businesses" who were at the protest earlier this year and not all were producing food and several counted multiple residential properties as part of the farm business. So I guess it is complicated. Govt needs to close loopholes.

I think because it was nationalised, but that would mean it was taken from multinational corperations, not from the USA, and it wasn't stolen as such, just, consessions not renewed. Anyway that all happened in the 70s so the war is a little late.

Wild guess: For decades US has seemed to think a state nationalising its own assets is an attack on US commercial opportunities and, in the extreme (e.g. Chile in 1970s, now Venezuela) active interference. Not much of a leap from that ideology for Trump, in his deluded megalomania, to call it theft.
